As we warm-up this year’s festival we head back to a retrospective of the New Queer Cinema movement, celebrating the early work of Gus Van Sant with his directorial debute ‘Mala Noche’ (1986) and the proclaimed ‘My Own Private Idaho’ (1991). Van Sant is considered to be one of the most prominent filmmakers of the New Queer Cinema movement in the early 90s, which shaped how queerness has been portrayed in film since. We kick off the 34th MIX CPH festival with a fantastic film, the French drama ‘Wild’, followed by our yearly opening party. Join us in the MIX Lounge from 19.30 for free snacks and drinks, and stay after the film for the celebrations with great music and cute queers to mingle with. We’ll party in the MIX Lounge until midnight, and we might even find a place to continue afterwards. Foto policy: Photos allowed. The Cinematheque has level access.
