In 1954 New Zealand, three rebellious girls form a powerful bond at a remote institution for incorrigible and delinquent girls. As they push back against the harsh system, a sense of doom settles in when experimental forms of punishment take place in the dead of night. Their friendship and unity, which had become their only refuge, are put to the ultimate test.
