The film: Queens of Joy
Amid the war in Ukraine, drag queens Diva Monroe, Marlen Scandal, and Aura choose to stay and fight for freedom, their community, and their lives. The film follows their journey — from the glamour of the show to the brutality of war. A charity performance they organise for Ukraine becomes a bold symbol of unity, defiance, and queer resilience.
The panel:
After the film, we will have a panel where we'll hear about the ways our panelists navigate the challenges of activism while centering joy as a source of strength and sustainability. Their insights will remind us that the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights is not only about resistance, but also about building communities rooted in solidarity and joy.
