Queering the Script 2023

MIX continues to strive to create more opportunities for local filmmakers. Since 2020, three editions of MIX's pitching competition for short films, Queering the Pitch, have successfully been held. This year, we are back with a new format that focuses on screenwriting. 

The aim of Queering the Script is to encourage both aspiring and established filmmakers to create queer cinema that will push and explore what queer filmmaking means. We invite everyone with a relevant idea or script to submit them for consideration. The competition is open to short fiction, documentary or web series pilots that have relevant LGBTQIA+ themes and subject matter.

The winning project is awarded a development grant of 5.000 DKK to cover the costs for a script consultant, with the aim of developing a solid final version of the script.

The competition consists of a written application that will be evaluated by a MIX CPH in-house panel. All applications will be considered and the winner will be announced on 22nd October. 

The prize for Queering the Script is generously provided by Odense Filmværkstedet which will offer guidance in the recruitment of the consultant.
