All Hallows’ Eve is the perfect time to come together and enjoy good and scary films. So why not do that with us? As part of ‘A Night With Monsters’, we are screening three films perfect for this Halloween. Starting with a queer horror cult classic—also known as the gayest horror film ever—‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge’, followed by ‘Thelma’, an eerie, supernatural take on the coming-of-age genre, and finally ‘Bit’—a modern vampire film.

In her first year in college, Thelma starts her life away from home, though remains bound to her over-protective parents. As devout Christians, her parents are concerned she may compromise her morals ‘like so many young people do when they move to the city’. One day she meets Anja and falls head over heels in love and lusts for her. Coming out to her parents doesn’t seem like a viable option, so she represses her feelings and they manifest as psychokinetic seizures.

The Cinematheque has level access.
