HOMØE - Looking for Shelter

Following the lives of LGBTQ refugees seeking asylum in Germany, this is an experience of the asylum procedure from the inside, focussing on the personal stories of those who come up against it. Among those stories, we have Javid from Azerbaijan, who starts a campaign for awareness of LGBTQ rights in refugee camps. We also meet Boris from Russia, who has moved into the first shelter for LGBTQ refugees escaping massive anti-gay propaganda and violence. Humanising, powerful, and important.

Encounters

This short film program invites you to observe encounters among gay men. Some are just beginning to discover their desires, some are well in the game and some are rather seeking compassion. The stories in this category are very different but they are united by the need for human contact. In the present society controlled by often anti-social social media, the personal connections are still vital.
